As a not-for-profit organisation we rely heavily on our volunteers, and have regular volunteers that help to digitise data. We are very grateful for their help and dedication, and recently had the opportunity to recognise one of our longest serving volunteers via the Room for Reward scheme. Essex Wildlife Trust can nominate a limited number of volunteers for the scheme each year, and we were delighted to have our volunteer Brian Arbon recognised under the scheme.

Room to Reward is an organization that books hotel breaks as a thank you for volunteer dedication. Brian has volunteered for Essex Wildlife Trust for over 10 years, and for the Records Centre since 2013. He is highly skilled, and specialises in digital mapping of data such as site boundaries and habitat data. Recent projects he has worked on include updating Essex Wildlife Trust reserve boundaries, and digitising old orchard boundaries from second edition Ordnance Survey maps for the Orchards East project. He also helps with practical survey work for Essex Wildlife Trust and isoften able to help the staff solve mapping related problems!

We are very pleased that Brian has been recognised under the scheme, and would like to thank all our volunteers for their hard work.
