Our database now holds over half a million records!

The Essex Wildlife Trust Biological Records Centre database now holds over half a million records!

This represents a substantial milestone for the Records Centre, so thank you to all our data exchange partners who have contributed to data sharing in Essex and helped us to reach this total. In early 2013 when the Records Centre was first set up we had approximately half the number of records in our database that we hold now, so this rate of data collection is a fantastic achievement. The launch of the Records Centre website has been a big factor in the boost to our records database as about a fifth of the data that we hold in digital form now comes from the EWT records website, so please keep the records coming in!

Although our database is now a substantial resource we still have a long way to go. We have many datasets that are still on paper and work is continuing to digitise these and make them more widely available. More information about the paper datasets that we hold will be posted on our website shortly.
